It is a daunting task to create sustainable change that is long lasting. Time management is a tool used to provide the client with tools to organize priorities. By listing the priorities there is a starting point for moving forward.

Time management skills will assist the client to remain focused on the goals and objectives that make up the blueprint. The tools serve as a vehicle to make decisions that are realistic and doable. Working in an organized fashion assists the client in seeing the changes as they are being developed and eventually actualized.

Identifying the obstacles that were in the past will clarify where the focus should be made. Wandering from idea to idea is not sustainable because an idea requires total attention to become possible and a client’s energy should not be spent on issues that were obstacles.  It is the breaking away from the obstacles that creates durable change.

A client’s environment needs to become a quiet space where the process of change can take place. Goals and change cannot take place in a chaotic environment. A housecleaning needs to take place where the client can sit quietly while not being interrupted with issues unrelated to the formation of the goals in the blueprint.

There should be a scheduled amount of time where the coaching process can take place. Once a time management plan is in place, the energy necessary for focus can be maintained. Coaching priorities have to be made by the client.  A time management plan that has been incorporated into the blueprint can facilitate the coaching process which is crucial to making meaningful change.
